1:20 am on June 11, 2003 (total travel time 9 hours)
1:20 rolled around, and we started boarding for the flight to Hong Kong. 1:20 am was really 3:20 am on my time zone, and I still had not slept a wink, so I was beat. I had decided to stay awake as long as I could, so that I could try to sleep on the plane around the time it would be night in the Philippines. They served dinner once we got to our cruising altitude, but I promptly refused it to help avoid any possibility of being sick during the flight or during my visit to Cebu.
I had a window seat, and there was a Chinese gentlemen in the isle seat, but fortunately no one sat between us. It was nice to stretch out a bit and not be cramped. Every time I got up to use the comfort room, the gentleman would not stand (would be too easy), he just move his legs a little so I could squeeze past him. He wasn’t exactly the friendliest guy in the world, but it could be worse (as told in my story flying back home).
I stayed awake watching movies until 5:00 am (which was 7:00 am CT and 8:00 PM in Cebu) and I went to sleep. I think I slept about 5 hours before waking up, and then dozed off and on for a while.
